Wenlock Basin is a private residential mooring. It was excavated by hand in 1826 to serve the growing City of London. Becoming derelict after the decline of canal carrying in the 1950s the basin was partially filled in but in 1982 it was brought back into life as a private residential mooring by The Wenlock Basin Houseboat Company.
